welcome to just another grocery garden blog! this is my first gardening blog which is appropriate because this is my first garden. i admit i am late in embarking upon this blog since i started my garden in march, but really, i've been too busy gardening to even think about writing. that isn't entirely true because i'm always writing something, but this particular blog has been brewing and bubbling for long enough that i finally had to lift the lid and let it boil over before it exploded into the atmosphere of lost ideas. i have contributed to that orbit too many times so here we are.
in this blog i am combining my 3 favorite things:
here's the premise: i am a novice gardener who started her first garden ever this spring. i did this in my front yard (grow food not grass!) with a fun/fab/ferocious friend (ferocious only in the best-ever way). and a lot of the time when i get out there and garden- plant, water, weed, stake, whathaveyou- i am poked by a truth from the book of all truth- the Bible. i don't want to forget these nudges, so i will record them as best as i can here.
soon i will give you the pay-by-play about how we started/ what we did/ what we should have done- and the most fun- what we're going to do next time. but not this minute.
for now just know i that i ate leftover butternut squash soup for lunch and if you are what you eat, right now i consist mostly of cherry tomatoes and kale salad (recipe to come). also, beginning gardening has been super- rewarding/ totally miraculous/ very yummy /somewhat overwhelming. can't wait to share it all!
thanks for hanging with me and my little garden. cheers to growing and eating together!
